Think of it this way. 83% of computers (laptop and desktop) use Windows. 13% use Mac. The vast majority of software is developed for windows, with another significant fraction developed for or adapted to mac, because that’s what most people use and it’s all most people understand.
Now imaging you’re one of the 1.4% of computers are running Linux. This doesn’t mean you’ve got a windows machine with a virus, it doesn’t mean your computer is broken, it doesn’t mean it needs to get replaced with a more common operating system. It’s not quite as good at some things most people take for granted, but it’s significantly better at a bunch of other things. But if you have a problem with your computer, the vast majority of people won’t have any idea what you’re talking about. They’ll give advice for how to deal with a similar issue on their own computer, and it will be worthless. The only people with any idea what you’re going through are going to be on linux forums. And you can mostly muddle through all the things everybody else can do with improvisation and lots of WINE, but it sure would be nice if the devs of that video game you were looking forward to would like, acknowledge the existence of your demographic.
Now imagine that on top of all that, the primary linux support system had been taken over by a bunch of assholes who’ve never so much as looked at a command prompt in their lives. but who have declared themselves the Voice of Linux Users and keep spending millions of dollars on campaigns “educating” everybody about how using linux makes you a fundamentally bad and stupid person so your laptop needs to be burned immediately to force you to get a correct computer.

seriously though bisexuality being defined as attraction to men and women is a heterosexual’s definition of bisexuality actual bisexual groups and organizations have been defining it as attraction to two or more genders or same and other genders since the nineties and plenty of nb people actually id as bi and refusing to accept how we define ourselves is so absurdly biphobic and heterosexist and jfc it’s 2014 can other queer people fucking realize and acknowledge this
The purple stripe on the bi flag is meant to represent attraction to nb genders and the bisexual manifesto published in Anything That Moves includes the lines “Do not assume that bisexuality is binary or duogamous in nature … In fact, don’t assume that there are only two genders.” That was published in 1990. It’s older than a lot of people here, including me, and older than terms like “pansexual” and “polysexual” by at least a decade. Bi history is important.
‘Bisexual’ meant ‘all genders and none’ back in the 1970s when I came out. It’s important to remember that. Maybe the word isn’t quite right now, but the meaning behind it, in my experience, always has been.
It’s 2018 and there are still people who think bisexual is transphobic. This post was written four years ago and is still relevant.

Just in case anyone wants the context: He has been making music in Chicago, he recently performed to a large audience and met London on da track, who offered him an opportunity in LA. She didn’t want to leave Chicago because of her business there. He told her that she doesn’t have to go, he just needs to do this for his music. She got upset because he straight up told her that he valued his career over their relationship and she did this.
Now I’m not a relationship expert, but I will never understand how some of y’all expect people to put you above the shit they have to do. Always put your career, your job, your livelihood first. This was all kinds of fucked up, really fucking abusive and manipulative, he should definitely go to LA with or without her.
Many women *WILL* reblog this, because part of feminism is acknowledging that women are just as capable of being abusive as men. Acting as though women cannot be abusive is misogyny, and relies on the misogynist tropes that women are frail, and innocent in comparison to men. Any true feminist must acknowledge that neither of these things are necessarily true and that a woman is in fact capable of being abusive whether it’s to another woman, a man, or a nonbinary person.
The reason we focus on abuse from men towards women is that it is more prevalent, and institutionally encouraged, justified, and allowed without consequence, while a woman even “talking back” to a man is to be “put in her place.”
Don’t bring your weak, fragile “Few women will reblog this” shit up in here. We know what abuse looks like when we see it.
If I could offer a young person advice about anything it would be do NOT make life decisions based on your boyfriend or girlfriend. Girls especially. Do NOT stay close to home for him, do not skip opportunities to travel or study abroad, do not pick a safe college to be with him. Expand your horizons. Broaden your own life. He is not the world.
I want everyone who disagrees with this post to come back to me in a couple years and tell me how that shit worked out.

Fuck yes that movie is AMAZZZINNNGG! Sadly my Dad refuses to watch it. Apparently he has “no desire” to watch it. Idk why but I think it is because of all the racist shit going on and that makes me sad bc he is shutting out whole ass cultures but I am not dealing with racism.

He kinda is and I hate it because I am not like that at all. And he also is against LGBTQ+ which is why I haven’t come out as bi. He is more subtle about that most of the time but there are times when he gets super mad and will go off about LGBTQ+. The racist thing is way more subtle unless he is mad. And sadly my younger brother is not thinking for himself and is instead starting to become like my dad. Except he supports LGBTQ+.
I understand that struggle. My dad says he’s not racist, but he’s clearly racist. He’s always talking shit about black people, Latinos, Muslims, and immigrants acting like he isn’t a person of color and an IMMIGRANT.
Damn. That would piss me off so much! Ugh and my Dad will be like, “And I am not being racist but…” Like if you have to say that before what you were gonna say, then you are most likely being racist. It makes me so mad especially because I have friends of all colors and I am fucking embarrassed for them to meet my dad.
